    报告摘要:

    We study the anisotropic Ising model with transverse field, anisotropic nearest neighbour interaction and Ising next nearest-neighbour interaction. We find that due to the interplay between the quantum fluctuation and geometrical frustration, a novel phase with incommensurate magnetic order may emerge. In particular, the proliferation of quantum topological defects in the form of domain walls may stabilize such a novel phase. The description of domain walls are in excellent accordance with the features in the excitation spectrum. The clock--stripe phase transition the isotropic case also fits into this description. Particularly, on the critical line separating the incommensurate phase and the stripe phase, there exists a tricritical point. We explained this tricriticality in the framework of Landau phase transition. Different from the commonly known tricriticality, this tricritical point has a topological nature. It divides parameter regions in which topological defects in the form of domain walls are stablized through a continuous phase transition and in which those are stabilized through a first order transition.

    报告人简介:

    张学锋博士于2006年山西大学物理基地班学士毕业,2011年在中科院理论物理所获得博士学位,之后先后在德国凯泽斯劳腾理工大学,马克斯普朗克复杂系统物理所从事博士后研究。2017年入选重庆大学“百人计划”,2019年入选国家高层次人才青年项目。主要通过量子蒙特卡洛数值模拟方法研究阻挫强关联系统中的新奇量子相,以及相关的拓扑激发与拓扑相变。
